Youth Ministry
St. Mary’s Youth Ministry program takes a team approach to ministering to Middle and High school students. They have several adults and peer ministers actively involved in evangelism, service, and social events. We strive to complement St. Mary’s Religious Education Program by providing additional activities to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of our youth and young adults. R.C.I.A.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a program for adults who desire to become fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. The goal of the RCIA process is full, conscious, and active participation in an exciting life with Jesus Christ within His Catholic Church. RCIA helps adults grow in their relationship with God, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, get acquainted with the faith community, and get involved in service within the community as a whole. Anyone interested may call the Religious Education Office at 815-895-3726 ex. 222.
Adult Enrichment
Opportunities are available throughout the year for Bible Study and other Adult Enrichment sessions. These are offered on a program by program basis. Monthly activities for Senior Citizens are also available. Watch for information in the bulletin or call Bess Andersen at 815-895-3726 ex. 225.
Altar Server
Students beginning fourth grade are welcome and encouraged to become servers for parish liturgical celebrations. At the start of each school year, an introductory letter and sign up sheet will be sent home with the fourth graders. Training coordinators are Marci Millburg and Shaney Herrmann. St. Mary School
St. Mary School is a vital part of the Religious Education programming at St. Mary’s Parish, serving students in grades Preschool through eighth. Information about the school may be obtained by calling 815-895-5215.
