Notice regarding the ceremony for the Sacrament of Confirmation:

We received a letter from the office of the Bishop outlining the plan being implemented to address the conferral of Confirmation throughout the diocese. Since St. Mary ordinarily requests a ceremony in the fall of each year, please note #2.  The letter states in part:

1. His Excellency will be able to accomodate a small number of parishes to personally confer the Sacrament of Confirmation this spring. These parishes will be contacted individually in the near future as to their specific date.

2.  Those parishes that have requested Confirmation in the fall of 2011 will be accomodated.

...

5.  For those parishes that are in need of a Confirmation date in 2012 but are usually scheduled in the fall, please refrain from making your requests at this time. We will notify you at the end of the spring to submit your requests so that you may be accomodated in the fall.

In closing, Fr. Fritz, Secretary to the Bishop, offers his sincere gratitude for patience, cooperation, and understanding.

Through the collaborative effort of the entire church community, we the teachers, staff, and parents of the St. Mary's Religious Education Program will strive to faithfully proclaim and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We will teach our children about the person and mission of Jesus, thereby inspiring and motivating them to form a deeper relationship with God under the guidance of the Roman Catholic Church.

Through this effort and by constant prayer, we hope that our children will grow into mature Christians who consciously and actively strive to become more like Jesus in every way.  In doing so, they will affirm their supreme dignity as children of God and recognize their mission along with the entire Christian community to celebrate the Good News by evangelizing, catechizing, and ministering to all succeeding generations to build up the Kingdom of God.
